So, what did I do? I participated in a totally great postcard swap run by Kat Sloma. It was so much fun! I just have to share this funny story about it…
I got all my postcards in the mail, probably at the last possible moment so they would arrive in time for the swap. The deadline was my birthday and I left two days after that for a vacation in Virginia Beach. My family and I arrived home a week later and at the end of the week a beautiful postcard came in the mail. It had some wonderful quotes on the back and a cryptic note. Both my husband and I were totally confused since neither of us knew the sender. We both figured that it must be for me since I am the artist in the family. He asked if I wanted to discard it and I said, NO! I was so beautiful and it was a mystery that I needed to unravel. Well, lo and behold, another lovely postcard arrived yesterday and finally – dawn broke! I figured out that these were from the postcard swap. I laughed out loud to myself at how “dense” I had been when I received the first one. Thanks to Kat for
sending these small gems my way. It is so wonderful to get some art in the mail instead of the usual junk or bills. It brings me back to the time when communicating by mail was a common occurrence.
I have not followed up with the artists from who I received postcards or those who reached out after receiving mine. But never fear!!! I definitely plan to do it. It’s just that the end of the summer has been so hectic that I have seldom been on my system. Let it be known that all of the cards were wonderful and I have posted a picture of them below. This is the first time I have participated in something like this and I’m so glad I did. Thanks to Kat and all the artists that made this all come true. I can’t wait to “hop” around to all the different participants. Enjoy!!!
