Wow, almost to the new year. Here is today’s postcard. Continuing on my texture theme this is one with the white/matte medium texture to which I have applied watercolor. Yum. Looks kind of like a confection!
The Small Works exhibit at Galatea Fine Art is in its final days. Don’t miss this exhibit as the work is truly beautiful. Check it out at 460B Harrison Avenue in SOWA.
This is another example of playing with washes and texture. It is the same white/matte medium wash applied thinly by pressing it on with wax paper. The pink section is water soluble wax pastel that I colored on and washed over with water.
I love texture in my work and have been experimenting with it a lot while doing these postcards. On some I have used matte medium and acrylic to form a wash, using waxpaper to press it onto the card. When removed it leaves a lovely lined texture. On this card I used cold wax medium mixed with black acrylic for the base, then applied a matte medium, white acrylic wash over the top.
I got behind the power curve with the Christmas Holiday. But I’m ready to get back on track. At least until New Years…
Ah, for those who know me this is classic Hendrick – wax paper. Gotta love it. To everyone out there in the ether – Merry Christmas!!!!!!!
I love this one. I may try to create this one on a large canvas.
Here is today’s entry. I love the texture, though that might not come through on the picture.
This is a day late. Couldn’t get to my computer yesterday. Hope you like it.
Just black acrylic paint scraped with a palatte knife, but I like the lines.
